Our Vision of Impact
A bonus for the future That’s impact investing.
Impact investing only makes sense when it is a good investment. It has to have a double impact: on the world and on the portfolio.

ESG minimises the adverse impacts.
Impact makes a positive contribution.
According to the definition of the GIIN (Global Impact Investing Network), impact investing goes a step further than ESG and explicitly directs investments towards companies, organisations and funds »that specifically aim to have a positive, measurable social and ecological impact, in addition to generating financial returns«.
Golding’s impact principle: global relevance.
At Golding we only talk about impact when we invest in businesses that through their products and services make a significant contribution to mitigating climate change, biodiversity loss and global inequality. This has led us to focus on the sectors of renewable energies, resource efficiency, food and agricultural technology and financial inclusion as investment areas.
Our impact investing strategy is intended to make a tangible difference, both in terms of the investment and the global impact. For impact also to be a good investment, the companies we invest in must have the following characteristics:
Scalability
Products and services should be capable of scaling quickly and grow faster than the market.
Competitive on price
Products must be available at a lower cost than less sustainable alternatives. Only then can they really dominate markets or open up new markets.
Market volume
We are looking for business models that will really prosper over the long term and contribute to transforming major markets. Regardless of the prevailing interest rates or inflation environments, and the conflicts that are taking place around the world.
Impact investing is a powerful driver for us to continue developing Golding as an impactful business. It gives us inspiration for other product areas every day, as well as important ideas for driving our sustainable business.

Every investment must advance specific UN Sustainability Goals.
We examine markets and business models worldwide for opportunities to make impact investments. Because we invest exclusively in businesses whose product demonstrably relates to and makes a significant contribution to specific UN Sustainability Goals. They include, for instance:
- Alternatives to certain chemicals, pesticides or packaging materials
- Technologies that are needed for the energy transition and which offer real added value
- Companies which want and have to improve their own footprint by means of technological upgrades
- Companies that want to make their product portfolio more sustainable by means of acquisitions
- Governments trying to uphold the Paris climate targets by means of subsidies and restrictions
- Customer groups looking for sustainability
