We are expanding our international team and are looking to recruit an Associate Execution - Emerging Markets Impact Credit (m/f/d) to be based in our London office.

Job Description

This position is based in London and will form part of Golding’s new direct EM private debt impact investment strategy.  The investment team is active in sourcing, underwriting, executing and managing private debt transactions across industry sectors with a primary focus on Africa and Emerging Asia.  The team invests across the capital structure with a primary focus on senior, secured and mezzanine investment structures.  The Associate will work with other members of the Golding team and focus on the screening, due diligence and execution of new investments, ongoing monitoring of existing investments, participating in various related initiatives and staying abreast of trends in the emerging markets private credit landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain in-depth financial and commercial analysis for potential investments:
    • Complex financial modelling and sensitivity analysis
    • Assessment of industry, political and macroeconomic trends
    • Form an in-depth credit view for potential investments
  • Prepare investment memos to be presented to internal investment committees
  • Assist with due diligence of potential investment opportunities and coordination of various diligence processes: legal, financial, technical and commercial
  • Contribute to sourcing and origination efforts, including conducting market research
  • Support the monitoring and management of existing investments
  • Contributing to other parts of the business on an ad hoc basis, including IR / marketing, investor queries, etc.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelors’ degree with strong academic and professional record
  • Analyst or junior associate level experience garnered from any one or more of:
    • Private credit, distressed debt, special situations or other buy side investing roles;
    • Leveraged finance, project finance, credit principal investment teams of investment banks;
    • Corporate finance, M&A or restructuring advisory teams;
    • Transaction advisory teams of accountancy firms; and/or
  • Credit or investing roles at development finance institutions
  • Direct experience and a broad pool of industry contacts gained from living and/or working on the ground in our target geographies – experience must be additive to the team’s current composition and experience
  • Excellent financial modelling, analytical, interpersonal communication and writing skills
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experiential proof of entrepreneurial skill-set and approach to career
  • Strong work ethic and personal integrity: candidate must be self-motivated and have a deep intellectual curiosity and commitment to impact investment
  • Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines
